I would suggest starting out at a mg dosage that is about equal to one pack of cigs. One pack of marlboro lights contains 16 mg (0.8mg per cig). So, you started off quite low.

They dont all deliver less nicotine, but the cartridges you specifically got are.

But, there are varying different levels of nicotine available. And prefilled carts kinda suck anyway, the flavor isnt as good. You can order liquid and fill your own carts in varying nicotine levels, or even mix your own.

I used this forum to gather most of my information before buying

It depends on how often you are using it, not the nicotine content, per se.

An 8mg e-cigarette means that the nicotine liquid (e-liquid/e-juice) that they used contained 8mg per milliliter. Each cartridge contains about 1/2 milliliter of e-liquid. A light cigarette contains .7mg per cigarette or 14mg per pack of 20. This means that you would have to “vape” about 2 1/2 ml worth of that e-liquid per day to equal a pack which would be an insane amount! It would be the equivalent of using 4-5 cartridges per day. You’d practically have to have it in your mouth every waking moment.

It is highly unlikely that a user of an 8mg e-cigarette would be taking much nicotine at all in. Here is what is in tobacco cigarettes:

A regular cigarette has approximately 1.1mg of nicotine or 22mg per pack
A light cigarette has approximately .7mg of nicotine or 14mg per pack
An ultralight cigarette has approximately .5mg of nicotine or 10mg per pack

I hope this made sense and helped some!

The math doesn’t matter too much as there are too many variables to come down an exact number. Variables would be things like how you use the device, how you drag off it. How long and how often you use it, etc. Listen to your body. If the 8 mg liquid isn’t stopping your cravings, then bump it up to 12mg and see if that works for you. It’s a lot of trial and error in the beginning.
I started with 11-12 mg but found I needed 24mg in the mornings to satisfy the cravings then dropped it down the rest of the day. Everyone’s different so don’t be afraid to try different things to find what works for you. I smoked around a pack a day (give or take) of Ultra-Lights and it took me about 2 weeks to learn the e-cig and find what worked for me. Haven’t had a cig since.

E-cigs do deliver less nicotine and the method of absorption is slower. So instead of that instant nicotine craving satisfaction, it will take a minute or so longer. But no big deal.

The best resources I found for information is on forums. vapersforum.com and e-cigarette-forum.com have been invaluable to me in learning about these e-cigs. Switching was easy and staying off of tobacco with them is almost too easy. I smoked for over 30 years and it’s been almost 9 painless months since I switched. Tobacco free with my e-cigs! I’m a happy camper!

    Good Luck & Happy Vaping!

As Lisa says, the maths is unreliable.

Dr Eissenberg says that ten puffs of 16mg delivers no real nicotine to the blood and Dr Laugesen says 16mg for five minutes vaping delivers about a tenth of the amount of nicotine to the blood as a cig.

Listen to your body and if you crave a smoke then try more nicotine. It isn’t always nicotine that you crave though, there are a lot of other chemicals in smoke that you’re missing too.
